Food For All NB | Aliments pour tous NB envisions a New Brunswick that is informed, connected, and engaged in food security for all. Food For All is a bilingual, provincial network, guided by the mission to provide leadership in the advancement of food security in New Brunswick.
About the position
This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. Only applicants that are eligible for Canada Summer Jobs funding will be considered for this role.
The Communications Officer will support the development and coordination of Food For All NB’s communications activities and strategies. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Communications Officer will ensure that all communications are clear, cohesive, and engaging. This will include but is not limited to: creating, publishing and managing all external communications, contributing to Food For All’s projects in various ways and ensuring the quality of written documents of the organization, both in English and in French.
Responsibilities

Ensure branding and messaging standards are met in all communications activities.

Organize and maintain contact management systems.

Create documents (written and visual) for promotional, and general communications materials.

Develop content for digital and traditional media.

Support the aggregation of data and information for Food For All’s reporting needs.

Maintain and update website content.

Implement organization's social media strategy.

Provide regular updates on social media sites of Food For All NB’s initiatives and current events in the food movement.

Monitor current events and developments in New Brunswick’s food movement.

Write, format, and distribute Food For All NB’s newsletters and/or e-blasts.

Other communications related work may be assigned based on the needs of the organization.
Qualifications

Able to communicate ideas clearly, succinctly, and effectively

Excellent bilingual (English & French) written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Proven excellence in organizational, project, and time management skills

Flexible and adaptive to different levels of workloads and schedules

Proficiency with a diverse array of digital tools, including but not limited to: GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.), and familiarity with other platforms such as Canva, Zoom, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Familiarity with issues of food security, food sovereignty, and food movements is an asset
